I had an absolutely perfect stay at this hotel. The entire staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. Breakfast was excellent, and the dinner was equally outstanding. The service was top-notch in every respect. The hotel has a charming, slightly old-fashioned touch that might seem unusual at first, but the cleanliness and the warmth of the team quickly make up for it. I would also like to sincerely apologize for the fact that my room smelled of cigarette smoke on one day. I did not smoke inside the room, but rather outside with the door open, and I believe the smell drifted in. On that day, I also had a Coke can in the trash containing cigarette butts I had collected during a hike, as I didn’t want to discard them in nature. Many thanks to the entire team for such a wonderful time! Kind regards, Ian-Michael Smith

I recently stayed here and had an amazing experience. The owners and staff are wonderful. We had a few issues arise during the stay and they were as helpful as possible. I had a minor complaint involving the bathtub in my room. It was addressed and fixed immediately. The breakfast and dinners were outstanding. Great food and value. Don't be deterred by the appearance of the exterior Conservatory on first arrival. It needs replacement, but its a time consuming process and the hotel is great. The rooms are a bit dated, in a minor way, but the value, service and experience, in my view, superceed that issue. If I go back to Scotland, I will stay here again. Thank you to the owners and staff! The town of Haddington is also lovely. About as charming as it gets.

Very friendly staff, helpful with everything needed. Shower was pretty useless, but the bath tub was great. Room was very warm to stay in so we weren't very comfortable most nights and slept on top of the blankets. All in all this was an alright place to stay. Breakfast was provided complimentary, and dinner for a charge. Food was always very good! House keepers were on point, except there was a sign saying to hang your towels if you will run use.. which we did, but the switched them out anyway. No washcloths provided just the larger hand towels which I thought was strange, but it seemed like that was everywhere we stayed.

We had an amazing wedding here back in July. We had a smaller sized wedding and they were able to accommodate due to their flexibility. We still hadn’t found the right venue by March, but in 3 and a bit months and thanks to Claire- our amazing wedding organiser we made it to the alter on our chosen date !:) we were so pleased with the service. We had gone for simple and intimate gathering, but it was made very very special by Claire and rest of the MHH staff. Our guests also commented on how lovely our choice of venue had been. There were a few dietary requirements and they were also very accommodating and the food was top quality. We were given a day we will never forget :) - highly recommended!

We had a very nice spacious room room with a large bed; the bathroom was similarly very spacious and everything was very clean. We ate the cooked breakfast each day of our stay and it was quite good, although personally, I prefer the continental style of breakfast. The first evening, we ate in the hotel and had a very nice main course, but it has to be said that each evening that we were there, the evening meal menu was the same. Service was good. The only negative comment is that we were served Belhaven beer which was absolutely disgusting, tasting of sour yeast. (Subsequently we had the same beer at another restaurant and it was very nice). I suggest that if you want beer in the restaurant, you go for a bottled beer.

This has to be the most loviest hotel I’ve stayed at. It felt like home and I have a heavy heart leaving here tomorrow, I don’t want to go. The staff are absolutely amazing the food 10 out of 10 the chips are to die for! The bed… best sleep ever altho I was here for work it felt like I was on holiday and nothing was to much for the staff very kind helpful and chatty. Like I say I do not want to go but all good things have to come to an end. But bank on it I will be back FACT … left a mark on my heart
